I am Gaston Lagos, a teacher in Salisbury College Australia. Firstly, I would like to welcome you all and to applaud you for having chosen a great institution as Salisbury College Australia. As most of my current students know, you could ask me anything related to studies and with the great help of my colleagues and myself we could facilitate you to reach your needs and your goals.
First of all, allow me to say that I am so happy to be here at Salisbury. I am qualified with a “Master in Applied Linguistics”, awarded by the “University of Sydney”, Australia. In addition, I have an “ESL Teacher’s Course” Certificate, awarded by the “Applied Scholastics Teacher Training Centre”. Sydney, Australia. In addition, I have a “Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE40110)”, awarded by the “Australian Adult Learning Institute”, Sydney,
I also have experience working for TAFE College, Blacktown, as a seasonal in the academic Pathway Programs, teaching Academic English 1 & 2 and Structure of English. In Term 1, I taught Academic English 2, Fast-Track/ Diploma and Literacy for Tertiary Studies. In addition, I have several years of local and International teaching experience, developing programs such as: ELICOS, ESL and IELTS, integrating AMEP and LLNP as a Trainer in Australia and abroad.
During my several years of teaching experience, I have had the pleasure of working with students of all cultures and backgrounds, not only here in Australia but also in their own environment. They have given me a very good understanding of how they live and the pressures that they are likely to face. In the process, I have discovered that every culture has diverse ways of dealing with various situations.
In addition, I would like to say that I enjoy the challenge of working with the new comers, and I believe that we could make a valuable contribution to the develop a great place for our Students of Salisbury College Australia.
