Jaana Shaw Academic Manager

Congratulations for choosing Salisbury College Australia as your preferred training provider – My Academic Team and I would like to extend a warm welcome to all our students. It is a great honor and privilege to be able to assist you in your learning journey.

I have been teaching and assessing students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds in vocational and academic settings for the past 25 years. I have had the opportunity to deliver training in traditional face to face sessions, flexible learning sessions in a classroom setting, group training, recognition and assessment sessions via video conferencing software and various e-learning platforms. I have taught domestic and international students in the Faculty of Business, Arts and Information Technology in TAFE, Illawarra Institute for 16 years. I also taught English for Academic Purposes (EAP) at the UOW Enterprises. My teaching and learning journey has enabled me to act as a Training Consultant for commercial clients and I was in the development team that created accredited, tailor-made training programs for the Department of Lands in New South Wales and the Department of Sustainability and Environment in Victoria. I taught year 11 and year 12 TVET students for seven years, and my ability to engage and motivate learning amongst an increasingly diverse student demographic was officially recognised in 2011 when I won TVET Teacher of the Year Award for my innovative approach to teaching and learning.

I have succeeded in gaining the following Teaching, Training and Vocational qualifications :

  • Master of Education (with Distinction) majoring in Adult Education – University of Wollongong
  • Post Graduate Certificate of TESOL – University of Wollongong
  • Diploma of Vocational Training
  • Diploma of Training Design
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessments TAE40110
  • Certificate in Workplace Assessments and Training (RMIT)
  • Word Processing Instructor’s Certificate
  • Diploma of Business Management (Distinction)
  • Certificate IV in Business Administration
